Today I surpassed my 1 hour 30 minute standing record and set a new 2 hour record! To meet that goal, I reverted to my time as a runner before my spinal cord injury. My “runner thinking” was as follows: When I would get tired and want to stop I’d say to myself “one more mile then I’ll stop.” When I reached another mile I said instead I will run 10 more minutes. When 10 minutes was up I would repeat that process until I couldn’t run any longer.
Today this thinking helped reach my new record of 2 hours! I can’t wait to see my doctor to see what she thinks I should do next!
